Following a called off of an industrial action embarked upon by Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) a week ago, the Lagos State Polytechnics (LASPOTECH), has announced the resumption of the institution and academics activities.

The General Secretary, ASUP, LASPOTECH Chapter, Uthman Olayinka, confirmed the announced resumption of the institution after the school had shutdown activities a week ago due to the union’s unmet demand by the government.

Speaking to journalists on Monday Lagos, Olayinka said that the body which represents academic staff in polytechnics across the nation, had in January began a one-week warning strike to press home demands registered before Federal Government, adding that, the union had assured to call of the warning strike by February 5.

He explained that outcome of negotiation between the union’s national body and the apex government was yet to be communicated to the chapter and that relevant quarter of the chapter would be briefed as soon as possible.
