The Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) begins today with an opening ceremony on Saturday 22nd April, 2017 in a colourful manner with a match past by Ekiti State University and all other participating universities across Nigeria.
The programme start by1:00pm did not start until 4pm. This caused a lot of weaknesses for participants from various universities and they decided to make use of the time for gyration to awaken the already dead spirit in them bringing them to life.
Benue State cultural troupe opened the event with dancing as they sang songs in their local language as the spectators enjoyed the rhythm.
NUGA chairman said the competition is the National games for Nigerian universities organised to be able to discover and encourage young talents engaging in sport rather than in ungodly activities.
EKSU thrilled everyone present at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, the venue for the 2017 NUGA to a moment of laughter and excitement as they all appear in their attention calling Ankara clothes displaying their rich cultural heritage unlike others who appeared in their usual sport wear and tracksuit as they sing several Yoruba songs proclaiming the great citadel of learning.
