A female student of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, Ogun state identified as Kofoworola Kuku Toheebah was killed when a speeding tanker hit her motorcycle on Lagos-Benin Expressway Road in Ogun state on Wednesday.
The incident took place at the limits junction of Ijagun that lead to the University campus.
According to an eyewitness who spoke with us, the deceased was on her way to school from her residence for a 12pm lecture in which she boarded a motorcycle (bike) from Ijebu Ode to beat time.
Unfortunately, the bike man had misjudged crossing the Lagos-Benin Express way and could not escape being hit by a coming vehicle.
The deceased who out of shock jumped off the bike was ran by a coming truck who could not control its speed.
Until her death, Kofo was a 300 level Human kinetics student, who was said to be a very brilliant and influential student in her department and college.
As at the time of this report, the truck driver identified as Jimoh Moruf has been arrested and presently in the police custody.
The angry students blocked both entrance & exit sides of the highway, causing traffic gridlocks on the ever-busy Lagos-Benin expressway.
They didn’t allow any vehicle to pass the highway but permit passengers to disembark from vehicles & gave them freeway to go about their daily duties.
