In every government, the parliamentary is often regarded as the most powerful arm of government due to its power to check mate the executive arm.
Every student union government is modeled after democratic etiquette. Thus, the same principles goes to any student union Government of any institution.
Furthermore, Section 23(a) of Tai Solarin University of education Student Union constitution empower the student parliamentary council of Tasued SUG as the highest policy making body, this inspires the song “Gbogbo agara Owo SPC Lowa”.
However, it is quite disheartening that this power full arm of government holds its session in a dilapidated chamber, the roofs are tattered, the tiles have broken, the chamber chairs are no where to be found. The home of authority turn to the hall of shame.
The chamber was renovated last in 2012 by the then Speaker Hon. Seye Adeleke (Welfarism 2011/2012) after moving from a mere classroom to the student union building.
The Infrastructural haphazard of Nigeria start with lack of maintenance and this is the problem of student union government. The inability to maintain infrastructures by the Tasuedsu parliamentary chamber is a viable example, nothing seems working in the chamber aside from the socket.
Should we say Chamber or Shame-Bar?
