The management team of the University of Benin, Edo State, declared Wednesday 3rd of May, 2017 to commemorate the death of James Odiboh who drowned in the River Benue.
The Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Michael Osasuyi, who spoke to Southern City News on Monday, stated that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, had paid a condolence visit to the parents of the deceased, one of whom was a professor in the university.
James Odiboh, a 200-level student of Medical Laboratory Science who passed on to glory on the 29 th of April while representing the Great University Of Benin in the Nigerian University Games (NUGA).
The lifeless body of the student was said to have been recovered and deposited in Madonna Hospital, Makurdi.
Consequently, Students are encouraged to come out to participate in the procession Ceremony which will commence by 8:00 am starting from the School Of Basic Medical Sciences and thereafter proceed to the University Main Auditorium for the Service of Songs.
Buses will be stationed at the Main Auditorium for Students to be convened to Third Cemetery where the body will be laid to rest.
We pray that God give us the Grace to overcome this Trying times till we meet James Odiboh again to part no more. Rest in peace Brother!
